A consultation lesson is perfect for first-time learners. those returning to practice or seeking a different perspective to their practice. This is a 30-45 minute session to explore how we would work together based on your needs and goals.

We will explore the piano using a "Chester's Easiest Piano Course" by Carol Barratt as a guideline. This provides an engaging framework to explore reading and playing music - fun for all the family too!
Lessons may also broaden to include singing, listening to pieces of music, and exploring the fundaments of music.

In these initial lessons we learn basics and get you playing with a secure foundation technique. You learn at your own pace and I will guide you to evolve and enjoy your musical journey.

The advanced performance class is a for students who have been playing consistently for over 5 years, and who wish to hone their musicianship towards music exams: Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, or Trinity College.
I would recommend this class for students wishing to achieve Grade 5 and beyond. This would also be an appropriate class for students at GCSE / A-level Music in which performance is an element.
Highly recommended for students who might explore a career in performance, which includes business!
Advancing through the grades system has many benefits, through an obvious one is how to deliver against a target while having fun. This is a transferable life-skill worth investing in. Executive Search firms and recruiters will notice distinctions such as a Grade 8 in performance which also gives 24 UCAS points (30 if a distinction is achieved).

For those wishing taking Grades 6+ the gateway to accessing the higher grades is to have taken and passed Grade 5 Music Theory to demonstrate a basic working knowledge of the language of music.
I offer Music Theory lessons to help students achieve the required standard to progress to the next levels of performance.
If students are also taking GCSE / A-level music, this grade of knowledge is very helpful.

I have two cats. Their names are 'Sitting' and 'Squashy'. They sometimes like to come and sit quietly or say a little hello during a lesson.
For mums and dads who sit in on lessons, you may have friendly little visitor coming to join in, mainly by finding a spot near-by and curling up.
My cats are very friendly, however if you have allergies, please let me know and I will ensure the studio is clear and sanitised before you arrive and doors closed for the duration of your lesson.
