Children's Piano
Early years

When children leave pre-school to 'big school', this is an ideal time to begin music lessons. The benefits and discipline of practicing will also help young people academically through across broader subjects through to GCSE and A-level.

How? We apply music practice skills to other subjects.

When to begin?

Early years piano lesson

Learning a musical instrument as a child has the potential to be an enriching, magical experience equally for the parents as the child absorbs and builds upon the foundation of practice.

The maximum age to begin, however between the ages of 5-7 tends to be the best time for a child to begin reaping the benefits of musical education.

Exploring the piano

Lessons take place at my home in the music room / tuition room.

We will explore the piano using a "Chester's Easiest Piano Course" by Carol Barratt as a guideline. This provides an engaging framework to explore reading and playing music - fun for all the family too!

Lessons may also broaden to include singing, listening to pieces of music, and exploring the fundaments of music.

Anthony - Piano playing

For young people my guidance is to pay per lesson for the first 5 lessons, then if we are feeling positive, I recommend a block of 10 as you get a free lesson in this package.

On frequency of lessons - I recommend once a week however if there is a lot of enjoyment and development, we can always review what makes sense.

Ziba Rashidian Scholarship

As part of the greater work of supporting younger people in their growth, I am delighted to offer one scholarship lesson for everyone who books a block of 10 lessons in advance.

I create this scholarship in honour of my darling mother Ziba Rashidian who passed away in 2022.
